It depends on the type of notarization needed. If an Acknowledgment is needed, the signer can appear before the notary after the fact, show their valid ID and attest that they signed that document. Then the document can be notarized. However, if a Jurat is needed (also called an oath or affirmation), the document needs to be signed in front of the notary. If you're not sure, contact me first, then you can text me a picture of the document and we'll look at it together.

In most cases, yes. For an add-on charge, I can print out the document and bring it with me to the appointment. If it's a long form that you'll need time to fill out or review, there may be an additional fee for time spent waiting for you to fill it out completely before it can be notarized.

No, per WA state law, the person whose signature will go on the document, or has already signed the document, is the one who must appear in person before a notary in order to have the document notarized.

I can act as a witness, or I can notarize, but I can't do both for the same transaction or document. Most clients arrange to have someone there at the signing if a witness is needed. Family members are not recommended as witnesses for any transaction. I can arrange to have a third party witness present for an additional fee.

Yes, Oly Notary does notarizations for patients and families in hospitals, care facilities, nursing homes and rehab clinics. We can meet in the patient's room, in the lobby, in the emergency department, outside or wherever is most convenient for you. We will find a private area to notarize documents including durable power of attorney, medical power of attorney and wills.

If you have not yet signed the document, fill out everything in advance except the signature and date lines. Once we meet up and I verify your ID information, I'll have you sign and date the document in front of me, then I'll complete the notary section and stamp it. There shouldn't be missing information in your form, it should be filled out completely prior to our appointment, except the signature and date (there may or may not be a spot for the date next to your signature, depending on the form).

Yes. Upon request, documents can be scanned on the spot, which creates a pdf file for you to save, upload or email. Files can be scanned in color or black and white. Documents can be up to 100 pages per file and larger files can be split. There is an additional fee for scans, based on size.

Per the Washington State Department of Licensing, acceptable ID documents must meet all 3 of these requirements: (A) current or expired within the last 3 years (B) be issued by a Federal or State Government and (C) contain the individual's photograph, signature and physical description.

Yes, as long as the expiration date of the driver's license is within the last 3 years, it can be still be used as identification for a notarization in WA.

Oly Notary charges $15 per signature notarized, plus a travel fee which depends on the location. Travel fees are determined by the zip code and/or area you are located in. The minimum travel fee is $40. 

Services such as scanning and printing are add-ons and can be done on the spot as I have mobile equipment.
